Thank You

Now that our campaign is over and I've had some time to reflect on the last few months, I want to take this opportunity to extend my sincere thanks to you and all the people who made this campaign possible. As most of you know by now, the final votes have been tallied and we came up about 350 votes short of winning one of the three nominations for delegate. Although I'm disappointed, I have no regrets, and am instead filled with gratitude toward the many people who supported our effort and with pride in the way we conducted our campaign.

Lierman Will Fight for Women's Issues

Gazette.Net Letter to Editor

With the Sept. 14 primary just around the corner, it's time to start talking issues.

While there are plenty of issues that state delegates will have to deal with this year (including the Purple Line and the state budget), I've been a long-time advocate of women's rights. Too often, candidates come off lukewarm on one of the greatest equality struggles of our lifetime — gender.

Kyle Lierman will not take this issue lightly. He believes in taking on domestic violence by making it easier for its victims to acquire protective orders, streamlining the path to domestic security.

Even in politically charged Montgomery County, candidate Kyle Lierman's donor list stands out.

Former presidential candidate Howard Dean. Irene Pollin, widow of real estate and sports mogul Abe Pollin. Robert Gallo, co-discoverer of the AIDS virus. Political commentator and Roll Call executive editor Morton Kondracke.

Not what you might expect from a 23-year-old business major who less than a year ago was still hitting the books at George Washington University.

Even with his prominent political roots, Kyle Lierman says he will keep politics as usual away from his Annapolis career and bring a fresh perspective to the House of Delegates.

A Bethesda native and Walt Whitman High School graduate, Lierman is campaigning to represent District 16 on the promise that he will accept no money from lobbyists or political action committees so they won't taint his commitment to progressive goals.
